To find inmates currently in custody in California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation institutions, use CDCR inmate locator.
Enter an inmate's CDCR Number or last name in the search form and submit.
Then click the inmate name of a result to obtain the inmate's admission date, current location and more details.
If you can't find the inmate using the online inmate search tool, contact CDCR or call the Department's Identification Unit.

CDCR inmate locator, now called California Incarcerated Records and Information Search (CIRIS), allows you to search for inmates being held in prisons, click here to lookup CDCR adult inmates online. You can also call a facility or visit in person and provide the inmate's name or CDCR Number to prison staff.
